Gratitude for the Art of Summer 2026
Sometimes it feels like there is so much media constantly being shown to us, that we can forget it is quite special and brave for someone to create and distribute their artwork.
Whether you’re an actor of such social notoriety that society calls you “famous”, or a musician who only performs for friends and family, it can be scary being vulnerable and letting other humans witness the work that you’ve crafted.
I believe it’s important for us humans to practice gratitude. (There’s actually a bunch of research that shows practicing gratitude is super good for you, but we aren’t here to look at studies.) Today I want to practice gratitude for all the incredible artworks that have been produced and released this summer.
On the music front, there was new work from the big artists like Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, Drake, Muse, The Strokes, and Weezer, just to name a few.
There’s also been big movies like Spider-Man Brand New Day, Backrooms, Obsession, Toy Story 5, Disclosure Day, The End of Oak Street, Supergirl, The Odyssey, Coyote VS acme, etc…
I’ve also seen a ton of work that my artist/photography friends have been producing. Some incredible editorial shoots by Emily Seiler,
thought provoking fine art still life photographs from Garreth Broesche,
mesmerizing commercial and portrait work from Drew Forsyth in the UK,
beautiful detailed paintings from Zooey Kraemer,
stunning designer pieces from the talented FizzBam Fabrications (Cassidy Kurowski)
and gorgeous, haunting work from Cameron Keller.
It would be impossible for me to narrow down an overall favorite of the pieces I shared. However, I think it’s worthy of our time to just take a beat and appreciate what an incredible summer it’s been for the amount of compelling art that’s been produced and released.
